Maria (Shiriaev) Juillerat, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Born in Suma, Ukraine, Maria was the daughter of the late Paul and Natalie Grebenuk. Maria immigrated to the United States after World War II in 1950. She came to live the American Dream, which she did with hard work and determination. She cleaned houses for many years to provide for her family. Her and her husband Orville shared 35 wonderful years of marriage together until his passing in 2002. Maria was an active member at Saint Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church and their Women's Guild. She also was one of the founding members of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, dancing, listening to music and socializing. Maria's life revolved around her family, close friends and Church. She loved spending time with family and friends, but most of all cherished playing with her young grandchildren. Surviving are her children: George (Karen) Shiriaev of Fort Wayne, Alexander Shiriaev of Fort Wayne; Victor (Mary) Shiriaev of Cape Coral, FL; step-daughters, Jean (Myron) Miller of North Manchester, Jeanette (Jim) Eberhart of South Whitley, Pauline Bruch of Columbia City; granddaughter, Michelle (Jerry) Love; grandsons, Steve (Rhonda) Shiriaev, Nicholas (Stephanie) Shiriaev; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; step-grandson, Greg (Faith) Miller; two step-great-granddaughters; nephews, Vladimir Holkin and Vasil Holkin of Ukraine; niece Lydia of Ukraine; loving friend of 74 years, Helen Lazanowski; sisterly friend, Judy Choker; goddaughter, Valentina Friar; and other caring family members in the Ukraine. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville Juillerat and Stefan Shiriaev. Service is 11:00 am, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Saint Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Ave with calling one hour prior, Fr. Andrew Jarmus officiating. Calling at the church, Friday, October 27, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with Entry Prayer at 12:45 pm and a Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Saint Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church Women's Guild.
