Margaret Bougher Jehl, 87 went home to be with Jesus on February 3, 2018. Loving wife and partner in business of the late Tom Jehl (2006), the couple was involved in the betterment of the Fort Wayne community, behind the scenes in such projects as the Lifetime Sports Academy, St Francis football, Memorial Baseball Stadium, and the Fort Wayne Parks Department. Margaret lived in the same house for much of her life in the shadow of St. Jude Church where she spent many hours praying for her family and for the charities she supported and for the businesses she and Tom started, which included Georgetown Square Shopping Center, Lake Forest and Georgetown Apartments, and several northeast Fort Wayne housing additions. She loved to play tennis and travel with her friends and family. She enjoyed boating and watching the sunsets at Lake Wawasee. We will miss her playful sense of humor, her infectious smile and the warmth she shared with others. As students in the Central Catholic class of 1948, Margaret and Tom were both class officers and planned many class reunions. They married in 1954 in Killarney Ireland while Tom was in the Air Force and the couple lived in Germany for a while. They later moved back to Fort Wayne where they dedicated their lives to their family, their community and their Church. Margaret was a graduate of Indiana University and taught 3rd grade at Abbett School. They had many exceptional lifelong friends who also enriched their lives. Their marriage together was blessed by four sons, Patrick (Marianne), Stephen (Glenna), David (Gina), Robert, and two daughters, Barbara (Jeff) Collins and Maureen (Terry) Partee all of whom live in Fort Wayne. Twenty two grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive along with her brother, Bill Bougher. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mauriece Bougher and her brother Tom Bougher. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at St Jude Catholic Church, 2221 Randallia Drive with calling one hour prior. Calling is also from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at DO McComb Lakeside Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Fort Wayne Parks for the Lifetime Sports Academy or St Jude School for tuition assistance.
