Mae Frances Ganaway, 77, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Houston, TX, and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston and earned her Bacheolors from Houston Tillltson College in 1962. Mae worked for the City of Fort Wayne in Human Resources several years. She was a member of The Chapel. Mae was the former Chairman for the League of the Blind, a board member for Girl Scouts of Limberlost Council, and volunteered for the United Way and Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne. She was a member of the Indiana State Borad of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, James V Ganaway, Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN son, Michael C (Julie A.) Ganaway of Fort Wayne, IN; nephew, Gary Cooper, Jr. of Salem, OR. Mae was preceded in death by father, Henry Foster Dean, mother, Edna Mae Cooper, brothers and sisters. Service is 10:30 am, Wednesdaty May 9, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with calling one hour prior, with Pastor Rick Hawks officiating. Calling also Tuesday, May 8, 2018, from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne League of the Blind.
