Lydia Ankipans Peralta, passed away on August 25th at Heritage Park Nursing Home.
Lydia was born in Rezekne, Latvia in 1932. She became a refugee during World War II and immigrated to the United States after several years in a refugee camp in Germany. Lydia graduated from St. Louis University in 1957. After many years as a homemaker, she became a research librarian at Magnavox, retiring form there in 1998.
She is survived by her sister, Janina Ankipans Powell; daughters, Mary Peralta Railing, Dr. Elizabeth Peralta and Rita Peralta; and her grandson, Robert Railing
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben C. Peralta and her son, Ernest G. Peralta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815 on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30AM with visitation 1 hour prior.
Visitation will be held at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815 from on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 6-8pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Wayne South Bend.
