Lawrence D. Wehnert, 69, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Coventry Meadows Nursing Facility. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Ralph and Betty (Lauer) Wehnert. Lawrence graduated from Bishop Luers High School and earned a degree from St. Francis University. He worked at International Harvester/Navistar for 40 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the McMillen Park Lions Club. He enjoyed music and art, gardening, and carpentry projects. His true passion in life was his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his children: Penny Dunlap of Angola, IN, Tim Wehnert of Lemoyne, PA, and Amy Wehnert of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren: Sloan and Cooper Dunlap and Paige Wehnert; and brothers: Ron (Sally) Wehnert of Indianapolis, IN and Ken Wehnert of Fort Wayne, IN. Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen S. Wehnert, and daughter-in-law, Julie Wehnert. Service is 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one-hour prior. Calling also Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
