Larry Edward Mast, 78, passed away on July 2, 2017, surrounded by his family, after a three-year battle with cancer.

Larry was born on Dec 9, 1938, in Wabash County, Indiana, to the late Orville and Catherine Mast. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1956 and Manchester College in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry. Larry began his career at General Tire in Akron, Ohio. He was then employed as an executive in the RV industry for more than 30 years, working at numerous companies including Starcraft, Coachmen, Shasta, Holiday Rambler and Jayco.

He was heavily involved in community and civic organizations in Elkhart, Indiana, including Dunlap Lions Club and CASA. He was a member of the Concord School board in Elkhart for 28 years, serving terms as President and Vice-President, and he was also a volunteer tutor at the school. He was active in leadership at his church and as a Sunday school teacher, as well.

Larry was named among the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1973. He received the CAPS Marv Yoder Memorial Award in 2007 and was given the Concord School Board Award of Excellence in 2012. In 2016, he was named a Lions International Melvin Jones Fellow.

Larry enjoyed spending time with family, volunteering at his church, fishing, travel, playing board games, photography, boating, SCUBA diving, and cheering for Concord sports teams and the Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Nancy; his children Karin (Chuck) Reid and Connie Costello of Fort Wayne, and Eric (Jodyn) Mast of Huron, OH; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers - Cloyd Mast and Marvin (Mary Ann) Mast of Wabash, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Catherine (Hardacre) Mast, a grandson, Elliot Mast, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is being held on Friday, July 7 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, Ind. and 9-11 a.m., Saturday, July 8 at Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 US Highway 24 West in Fort Wayne prior to the Celebration of Larry's Life Service at 11 a.m.
