Laquita Ann Underwood, 37, passed away January 14, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving wife and family. Laquita worked as an LPN and traveling nurse all around Fort Wayne and the country. To know her was to love her, she treated everyone as her family. Laquita cared for everyone deeply and lovingly. She was always there to help anyone who needed it. Laquita was a counselor and shoulder to lean on for anyone that needed her. She loved her nieces and nephews, her babies, as if they were her own. Laquita is survived by her wife, Rubbie Underwood, sister, Chalena (Robert) Hardy, father, Roosevelt Tubbs, grandmother, Betty Weir, uncle, James Tipton, cousin, James "Little Jimmy" Jones, nieces and nephews, Isis Hale, Aaliyah Hardy, Aliyonna Hardy, Aamiyah Hardy, Aariyah Hardy, and Robert Hardy Jr., and a host of special bonus sisters, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Tipton, nephew, Rico Morales, and cousin, Adam Tadeo. Funeral Service will be Saturday January 26, 2019 10:30 am at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park- 1140 Lake Ave. with calling an hour prior. Calling will also be at the funeral home Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6-8 pm. Memorials may be made to Charis House.
