JUDITH ANN HANSEN 74, of Ft Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2017. Born in Toledo, Ohio Judith was the daughter of the late Jean and Ralph Mason. Judith was a hairdresser for 30 years in the Toledo area and owner of Curl and Flair beauty salon on Sylvania Avenue. She loved to travel, play golf and go boating and fishing with her loving husband of 45 years, Niels Hansen. Judy and Niels lived in Temperance, Michigan for twenty-four years before moving to Fort Wayne in 1992, and were active members of the Giant Oak Golf Club. They were transferred to the Fort Wayne area by the Dana Corp, when the Toledo Plant closed. There, they joined the Cedar Creek Golf Club where they met new friends and found a new home in the Oak Point subdivision. Judy retired from the beautician business to become a full-time house wife. She worked part-time assisting in the taking of school photos for several years where she met some of her closest friends, Pat Starky & Cheryl Compton. Judy and Pat started attending the Saturday country farm market and having breakfast at Panera on a regularly basis. After Judy retired, her and Niels spent several months each winter for approx. 10 years at Stonecrest Country Club in warm and sunny Summerfield, Florida golfing and fishing. They met and acquired many Floridian friends while attending events at the Villages dancing at the square and church services on the Square. Judy and Niels did extensive traveling throughout the United States, the Bahamas, Canada, and Alaska. Enjoying the different sights, golfing, fishing and enjoying nature with close friends. Judy was blessed with so many good friends and neighbors, many of whom, helped the family thru her illness with cancer. We are eternally grateful to all of you. Judy was preceded in death by father, Ralph Mason, mother, Jean Steuer and brother Larry Mason. Left to carry on her memory are her loving husband Niels, son Eric (Gloria), brother Ron (Bridget), 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons; step-mother, Pat Mason of Toldeo; step-sister, Sandy Stover of AZ; sister in-law Lynne Mason, along with many family and friends whom love her and will miss her dearly. A Memorial Service will be 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd, with calling from 1:00 pm until the service. Memorials in Judy's name may be made to the American Cancer Society. The burial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Whiteford Union Cemetery in Lambertville, MI.
