Joyce Carol (Carr) Firestine, 88, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Joyce was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Carr, Sr. Joyce modeled for Wolf and Dessauer's junior shop as a teen. Along with raising her seven children, Joyce loved Elvis, music, and watching movies. Surviving are her children; Linda Boschet, Karen (Ron) Rice both of Fort Wayne, Debbie (Mike) Tartaglia of Churubusco, Laura (Mike) Hamrick of Fort Wayne, David Firestine of Hamilton, Michael (Cindy) Firestine, Lisa Art both of Fort Wayne; brother, Walter (Cara) Carr, Jr. of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren,Sarah Numbers, Megan Werling, Shawn Rice, Michael Tartaglia, Jr., Kristen Tartaglia, Ryan Tartaglia, John Michael Hamrick, Joshua Firestine, Holly Firestine, Taylor Firestine, Travis Firestine, Andrew Lamont, Zachary Art; and six great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Roy J. Firestine. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with calling one hour prior, Fr. Lawrence Tetah officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorial may be made to Visiting Nurse, Alzheimer's Association or St. Anne Retirement Home.
