John A. (Jack) Steigerwald 75, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at The Cedars in Leo-Cedarville. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Jack graduated from Central High School in 1959. Jack worked for the McComb family and D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral home for 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the Lions Club, Cedar Creek. Jack loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and cutting firewood. He never met a stranger and will be fondly remember for his humor and big smile. Surviving are his loving wife, Anna Mary Byler-Steigerwald of Fort Wayne, IN; children, Tammy Couch of Fort Wayne, IN; Teri Steigerwald of Fort Wayne, IN; Gail ( Bill) Nitz of Roanoke, IN: Kent (Cindi) Byler, Kermit (Renai) Byler, Kendra (Jeff) Harless, sister, Carolyn Hay all of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Ashley (Garrett) Hudson, Adam (Natalie) Couch, Tyler and Jennifer Yoder, Alex and Olivia Byler, Hannah, Marissa, Zazhery Harless, Anna and Jakob Byler, and great-grandchild, Layla Yoder and Savannah Couch . Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Helen B. Steigerwald, brother, Richard Steigerwald. Service is 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior, Rev David Taylor officiating. Calling also Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
