Joan D. "Jo" Shoaff, 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. She was born on February 26, 1928 in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Vorndran. She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Joan graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946. She began her working career as a Secretary at GE Winter Street where she met her future husband, Robert "Bob" Shoaff. They were married at St. Peter's Catholic Church in 1954. She left General Electric to raise their family. Joan enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, sewing, playing cards, fishing and watching football. Surviving are her children; Robert E. (Mary) Shoaff Jr., Diann (Steve) Mock, Michael (Debra) Shoaff, Janet (Matthew Chapel) Shamo, Thomas (Janice) Shoaff; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and longtime friend, Lillian Osborn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Robert E. Shoaff; infant sister, Alice May Vorndran; and brothers, James "Jim" Vorndran, David "Dave" Vorndran. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM on Monday June 26, 2017 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road Fort Wayne, IN 46825 with calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2-5PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Chapel 1320 E. Dupont Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46825, with a Rosary at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to masses at St. Vincent De Paul or St. Vincent De Paul Society.
