Joan A. Harris, 90, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her home in Fort Wayne. Born in South Bend, Joan worked in customer service with K & K Insurance for10 years, and most recently with American Specialty Insurance for 4yrs years, retiring in 1993. Surviving are her son, David (Shirley) Harris of Carmel, IN; daughter, Dr. Brenda (Brian) O'Hara of Fort Wayne; 6 grandchildren, Robert, Anthony, Jonathan, Eric, Katy, and Kate; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexander, Hannah, Ian, Elizabeth, Beau, and Graham. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Harris; parents, Donald and Lucille Ayers; brothers, David Ayers and Donald Ayers. Service is 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the service at Two EE's Winery, 6808 North US 24 E Huntington, IN. Memorials may be made to HOPE for Animals, www.hope-for-animals.org.
