JoAnne E. Bloom, 93, died on January 14, 2017 at Harbour Assisted Living. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Dollie (Hinkley) Shew, and was raised in Churubusco, Indiana. She had been an employee of Parkview Hospital and Fort Wayne Surgical Associates and retired from the office of J.E. Arata, M.D. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Michael B. Bloom, daughter, Mary Beth Bloom, of Fort Wayne, sons, Philip (Jessie), John (Jana), Kenneth (Cheryl) all of Fort Wayne, and David (Christina) of Greenwood, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren with one due in February, two step great-grandchildren, brother, Richard Shew, sister, Patricia Johnson both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Martha Bloom, brothers, Warren, William, and George, sisters, Elisabeth Derf and Genevieve Swenson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church with calling one hour prior, Fr. Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, on Friday, from 2 pm to 4 pm to 6 pm to 8 pm. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery Fort Wayne, Indiana.
