It is with deep sadness that the family of Mrs. Jean M. Halberg announces her passing. Jean died peacefully in her sleep on November 7th, 2018, at the age of 82, of complications from cancer. Jean was born on October 12, 1936 in Utica, NY, to Herbert and Sara Alsheimer. She attended Whitesboro High School followed by Bouve-Boston College at Tufts University and graduated in 1958 with a degree in physical therapy. After living abroad in Spain and Bermuda for several years, Jean moved to Fort Wayne in 1962. She raised two daughters, Julie and Kimberly, and pursued a career in physical therapy at St. Joseph Hospital. After retiring from physical therapy, Jean worked for many years at Macy's Department Store in Glenbrook Mall. Jean loved to travel with her friends, visiting Alaska, Russia, England, Europe and the desert Southwest over the years. Her other interests included interior design and art. Jean loved to read and enjoyed listening to classical music. She is survived by her daughter Julie Jones and husband Ken Jones, of Syracuse, IN. Jean is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in-law family members who fondly called her 'Aunt Jean'. As per her wishes, Jean will be buried in Utica next to her beloved daughter Kimberly. Rest in Peace Mom. DO Mc Comb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. To sign the online guest book go to www.mccombandsons.com
