Jean Harlan, 83, went into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at PRMC in Fort Wayne. Born in Bloomfield, IN, Jean completed her undergraduate work from Findlay College and later graduated with her Master's degree from Clarion University. She worked as a teacher for over 40 years in five different states while serving alongside her husband as a Pastor's wife. She was a member of the Churches of God General Conference and most recently attended Trier Ridge Community Church. Jean had a passion for teaching, and welcoming others into her home. Most of all she loved her family. Surviving are her husband, Rev. Lloyd Harlan of Grabill, IN; her children, Melinda (Steven) Moffitt of Wooster, OH; Michael (Cathy) Harlan of Lewisville, TX; Monty (Janette) Harlan of Albion, IN; and Michelle (Mark) Goeglein of Harrisonville, MO; son-in-law, Ken Walters of Colorado Springs, CO; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; brother, Ron (Sue) Sparks of Bloomfield, IN; sister, Carol Sparks of Bloomfield, IN. Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Walters; 2 grandchildren, Marcus and Moriah Goeglein; parents, D. and Ophia Sparks; and sister, Betty Miller. Service is 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Trier Ridge Community Church, 7501 Hessen Cassel Rd, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd on Monday, January 1, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Burial in Stony Point Cemetery, Kosciusko County.
