James David Koble, 60, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice in Fort Wayne. He was lovingly referred to as Jim, Jimmy, Mij, PawPaw, JimPaw, and Daddy. Jim was happiest with his music loud and his family louder, sharing meals, laughter and ideas preferably around large bodies of water. He began his life in Harlan, Indiana and resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A people person, Jim was in management most of his career, notably at Magnavox, Zollner Piston, and ITT. Often referred to as "the best boss ever," he held as close friends a number of people who worked for him or with him, including marrying his very best friend and colleague, Dolores Ann (McKeeman) Koble on November 25, 1988 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dee and Jim devoted their time to the church through teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, recording for Worship-for-Shut-Ins as well as entrusting the education and spiritual guidance of their children to Holy Cross. Jim was always teaching: his kids, his employees, or the community such as through Junior Achievement. He advanced himself through education as well, at Ivy Tech and IPFW. He believed in continuous improvement and intellectual curiosity, which will live on in his children and grandchildren who never sit still. Jim is survived by his wife Dee; mother, Elizabeth (Gulley) Koble, his children Steve (Cindy) Pelz, Tom Pelz, Brandon (Trisha) Koble, and Angie Fidler; his 8 grandchildren; brothers Paul Robert (Marianne) Koble and Steven (Andrea) Koble; sisters Lori Longs and Lisa (Don) Hein; and many grand dogs. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Koble, sister, Becky Crandol, and nephew Ryan Koble. Service is 6:00 pm, Tuesday February 27, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Avenue with calling one hour prior, with Rev. Brandon Koble officiating. Calling also Monday, February 26, 2018, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Allis, WI or Cancer Services of NE Indiana. To sign the online guest book, go to
