Jackie Preston Nettles, age 84, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018. Jackie found her church home at Capri Christian Church and became involved in many ministries including Phillips (widows) ministry and grief support She Loved to walk up to someone at church who was sitting by themselves and say, "Are you alone today?" She would then sit next to them and say, "not anymore!" She loved to share the salvation Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone and she would say, "It is not a religion, its' a relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior." She loved connecting people together, so that they could help each other up in their shared trial. Jackie's greatest ministry came when she was recently diagnosed with "small-cell lung carcinoma" and given only a few months to live. She testified to the overwhelming Peace of God that surpasses all understanding. She straight away got busy and visited with family and friends to say her goodbyes. She especially wanted to witness to her friends that didn't know Jesus Christ. Her courage and trust in the Lord's promises was inspirational to all. All that knew her loved her. She often said, "That if you have a pulse, you have a purpose." That is the challenge that Jackie left with us. Her survivors include Jackie's daughter Kim Ranelle Munroe (and her husband Craig) of Bloomington, Indiana, her son's Kel Ryan Preston of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Kent Richard Preston of Indianapolis, Indiana (Their wives Sandy and Lori) 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Jesse Nettles 6 children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and Harry Preston's brother and sister and family in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up at Capri Christian Church on the Isles of Capri, 111 E. Hilo Street, Naples Florida 34113 to continue mom's ministries for the Kingdom of God. The family will have a private graveside service in Fort Wayne, Indiana. There will be a Celebration of Jackie's life on Friday, May 4th from 6:30-8:30pm at Rack & Helen's Social House at the Coyote Creek golf club located at 4935 Hillegas Rd., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46818.
