Longardner, Ivah M. passed away on Thursday, June 21st, 2018. She was born in Chariton, Iowa on November 15, 1922 to John and Paschal Parry. Soon after, the family moved to Ottumwa, Iowa where she attended schools graduating from Ottumwa High School in 1940. She was employed by the telephone company until moving to Fort Wayne in 1943 where she worked for the Indiana State Highway Division. She then took a job at Nipsco Gas Company from which she ultimately retired. She married Harold A. Longardner on June 1, 1945 and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his death in 2011. Ivah will be remembered best by her family as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose kind and caring nature was perfectly matched by a joyful sense of humor. Friends and neighbors also cherish memories of her generous spirit and love of nature. Ivah was an avid traveler with a deep love and curiosity for other countries. Those in the local community and at a greater distance will remember Ivah for her talents and expertise as an artist and painter. Ivah was a passionate and award-winning artist whose many watercolor and oil paintings found a widespread, international following. She was a celebrated feature at the Grabil Fair for 28 years, where she maintained a booth selling her fabulous paintings with her husband's loving assistance. Ivah was a member of the Fort Wayne Art League and her paintings were prominently featured at many local banks and hospitals. She was commissioned to paint a portrait of local veterinarian, Dr. Ackerman. Authorized prints of this portrait were sold at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo gift shop, with proceeds benefiting Dr. Lawrence A. Ackerman's scholarship. Ivah's paintings of Victorian houses, animals and local Amish community are highly regarded and sought after. Ivah brought a bright sparkle of joy into a world which is now a bit dimmer by her passing. She is survived by her daughter Eugenia (Tom) Clore; grandchildren, Jason Fish, Michelle (Ben) Keplar, and John Clore; great-grandchildren, Arianna Fish, Jason Fish, Jr., Alexis Keplar, Kyra Keplar, Gabriel Keplar, Gideon Keplar and Ava Fish; and beloved Sister-in-Law, Phyllis Parry.
