Ira "Gene" Listenberger Sr., 70, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Gene worked as a machinist with GE for 13 years and most recently with Bentler Automotive for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman who loved taking trips to Canada. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty Ann Listenberger of Fort Wayne; daughter, Martie (Pat) Simpkins of Columbia City, IN; son, Ira "Boo" (Lisa) Listenberger, Jr. of Churubusco, IN; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his mother, Goldie Listenberger of Fort Wayne; and 3 sisters. Ira was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Listenberger; father, Lloyd Listenberger; and 3 brothers. Service is 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd with calling one hour prior. Calling also Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
