Herold A. Tonak, age 67, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Tonak was born on January 5, 1951 in Minnesota to Calvin and Lois (Strahm) Tonak. He graduated from Northside High School. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy. Herold worked as a mechanic for Navastar for over 30 years before retiring. On June 21, 2002 he married Robbin Zent in Fort Wayne. He loved fishing. He enjoyed going to the Baer Field Motorsports Field and watching NASCAR. Herold was friendly and outgoing and loved to help people. Survivors include his wife, Robbin Tonak, daughter, Amanda (Christopher) Smithson, and brother, Gerold (Carol) Tonak and his neices. Herold was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Tonak. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10am. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne.
