Helen Beatrice "Beatie" Welch, 91 died May 25, 2017, in Fort Wayne. Beatie was a native of Payne, Ohio. She worked at Wayne Pump, Bishop Luers Cafeteria and as a homemaker. Beatie was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed family life and playing cards. She is survived by two daughters, Sue E. (Jeffrey) Stone and Dianna K. (Dennis) Thelen; and three sons, David L. Welch; Gregory A. Welch; and Patrick C. Welch, all of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Beatie was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton K. Welch, her parents, Raymond and Anna (Miller) Shugars; sister, Elizabeth Weidemeier and her brothers John, Franklin and Raymond Jr. Shugars. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at St. Jude Catholic Church with calling one hour prior, Fr. Jake Runyon officiating. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses or American Heart Association. D.O. McComb and Son's Maplewood Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
