Harold R Buckenmeyer, 91, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett. Born in Swanton, OH, Harold worked with Michigan State Park as a manager for 39 years. He served honorably in WWII with the U.S. Army. Harold was a loving father and very kind man. He was soft spoken, intelligent, and thoughtful. He will be missed greatly. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Dorothy Buckenmeyer of Huntertown, IN; children, Alan (Roberta Jasina) Buckenmeyer of Romeo, MI, Joel Buckenmeyer of Nashville, MI, and Theresa (Patrick) Felts of Trenton, MI; grandchildren, Jeremy Rama, Jennifer and Christopher Felts, Alan "Abe" and Joseph Buckenmeyer; great-grandchild, Thomas Rama; sister, Dorothy Ronau of Swanton, OH; daughter-in-law Aleene Buckenmeyer; and many beloved nieces and nephews; step-children, Steve (Jan) David; Kay (Mark) Byerley; Amy (Scott) Bowser; Pat (Mike) Wissel; Greg (Liz) Davis; Barb (Ron) Carpenter; 11 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren; Harold was preceded in death by father, Robert J. Buckenmeyer; mother, Leona Buckenmeyer; sons, Paul Buckenmeyer and Philip Buckenmeyer; first wife, Rosemarie Buckenmeyer; brother, Art Buckenmeyer; and sister, Irene Stern. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:30 pm in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with an hour of calling prior to Mass. Cremation to follow.
