Gerald "Jerry" Riedel, 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus, one day after his 90th birthday on Thursday, May 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Algona, Iowa, Jerry was the son of the late Louis and Edna Riedel. Jerry served as a District Manager with NCR for 33 years, retiring in 1987. Jerry had a strong faith in the Lord. He was an active member at St. Michael Lutheran Church, serving as an Elder, and being in their choir. He served as former president of Lutheran Churches in Dubuque, IA; Lansing, MI, and Fort Wayne. He was also a member of Fort Wayne Men's Senior Golf League. Jerry enjoyed spending time at his Lake Cottage in Michigan, fishing, golfing, family genealogy, and spending time with his family. Surviving are his children Kevin (Jannie) Riedel of Overland Park, KS, Teri (Randy) Rumzek of Lansing, MI, Sue Pickard, Jan (Randy) Fillmore, Leslie (Don) Crandall all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Thomas Riedel, Nickolas (Amber) Rumzek, Todd (Lacey) Rumzek, Mallory Rumzek, Robert Brayton (Jessica) Pickard, III, Elizabeth Pickard, Alison Pickard, Jodee (Bryan) Foos, Logan (Amanda) Fillmore, Riley Crandall, Brandon Crandall, Tanner (Becky) Crandall; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Grayson, Emma, JT, Gretchen, Imogen, Magnus, and Gabriel. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Riedel; sister, Lugenia Fredrickson; son-in-law, Bob Pickard; and infant twin brother, Derald Riedel. Service is 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Rd with calling one hour prior. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road Tuesday, May 8, 2018, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church Music Department, or Concordia Seminary.
