Gene L. Ruse, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in a Fort Wayne Hospital. He was born in Wabash County Hospital on March 4, 1942, to Wayne and Kathleen (Briner) Ruse of North Manchester, IN. He graduated from Manchester High School, and International Business College in Fort Wayne. He worked for International Harvester, Phelps Dodge, Midwestern United Life in Fort Wayne and was currently co-owner and operator of Brookwood Cabinet Company in New Haven, Indiana. Gene enjoyed fishing at their lake cottage and yard work at home. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Brooke), grandson, Scott Nicholas Ruse (his mother Kelley Ruse), brother, Don (Janie) Ruse of Sweetser, Indiana. Also surviving are two aunts, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service is 2 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior, Rev. Tom Julien officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Gene Ruse Memorial Fund" for the education of grandson, Scott Nicholas Ruse, who is working on his doctorate degree in physical therapy. Memorials may be mailed to Brookwood Cabinet Company, 5912 Old Maumee Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46803.
