Franklin "Harry" Hurt, Sr., 80, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Harrisburg, PA, Franklin retired as a local business owner. He proudly served his country as US Navy veteran. Harry was a member American Legion Post 47. He enjoyed golfing, boating, and IU sports. Surviving are his daughter, Michelle (Jim) McClain; son, F. Harry (Michelle) Hurt, II. both of Fort Wayne; 4 grandchildren, Landon Hapner, Carissa Blake, Melissa Wilson, and Nicholas Hurt; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandie Moore of Waterloo, IN, and Debbie Grinstead of Auburn, IN; and his uncle, Harry (Barbara) Hurt of Indianapolis, IN. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin W. Hurt and Evelyn Campbell; sister, Jean Tibbett; and great-granddaughter, Adalynn Wilson. Services will take place at a later date.
