Frank K. Helmsing, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Frank was the son of the late Lawrence and Elise Helmsing. Frank graduated from Central Catholic High School class of 1946 He worked as a cost analyst with International Harvester 37 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and was part of the Got Mail Group. Frank was an usher at the Fort Wayne Embassy for over 25 years. He was also an active volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital logging over 500 hours. Frank enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Katherine Helmsing of Fort Wayne; children, Larry (Debbie) Helmsing of Angola, Debbie (Geoff) Beinhart of Dayton, OH, Theresa (Dr. Richard) Reikowski of Tallmadge, OH; grandchildren, Dan and Ben Helmsing, Amy and Corey Beinhart, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Matthew Reikowski; and great-granddaughter, Zoie Helmsing. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers Clarence, Raymond and Jerry Helmsing. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:00 pm, Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd, Sunday April 30, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
