Francis C. "Hank" Thissen , 79, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born in Kingman, KS, to the late Cornelius and Clara Thissen. Hank worked as an Actuary at Lincoln Life for 21 years and a Consulting Actuary with Buck Consultants for 12.5 years, retiring in 1995. At time of retirement, he was a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a member of Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and Enrolled Actuary with the IRS. He was also a long time member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Hank had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed making people at ease with laughter. He was a generous and unselfish man, always wanting to do for others. Hank enjoyed sports and was an avid baseball fan. Surviving are his wife, Nancy L Thissen of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Catherine McAlkich of Fort Wayne, IN, Laura (William) Driscoll of Seattle, WA; Mary Beth (Steve) Allen of Augusta, GA; Theresa Thissen of Fort Wayne, IN; Nancy (Dave) George of Greenwood, IN; Julie Thissen of Fort Wayne, IN; step-sons, Andy (Gay) Klotz of Fishers, IN; Erik (Tracey) Klotz of Garrett, IN; Chris (Sabrina) Klotz of Harlan, IN; step-daughter, Jennifer Huffman of Fort Wayne, IN; 18 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 3 sisters Francis was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores Thissen, grandson, Kyle McAlkich, 5 brothers & 1 sister. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Monday May 7, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4910 Trier Rd. Fort Wayne. IN 46815 with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4-8 pm Sunday 5-6-2018 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
