Frances R. Meyer Schnizer went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 31, 2017. Born on May 19, 1925 in Fort Wayne, IN, Fran was the daughter of the late Walter and Jewell Meyer. She attended Harrison Hill Elementary/Jr. High and graduated from South Side High School. There Fran met many of her forever friends. Fran attended Miami University in Oxford, OH. It is there that she met the love of her life, William Schnizer, who was in the navy and stationed there for training. Fran enjoyed golf, poker, bridge, spending time with friends, entertaining and parties. Above all, she cherished time with her family. Fran loved the city of Fort Wayne and was very active in the community. She was a 75 year member of Plymouth Congregational Church where she was involved with the Mary Lyon Circle and often prepared meals for church members. Fran also was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and the sisterhood of PEO. She spent many years working at Republican Headquarters. Fran had several forever friends. Among her favorites were "the gang" and the spirited Jolly Girls. Fran is survived by 2 daughters Diane (Richard) Perez of Laguna Niguiel, CA and Barbara (Chad) Fogarty of Westfield, IN; 2 granddaughters, Katie (Chris) Polo of FIshers, IN and Megan (Matt) Charles of Noblesville, IN; 5 great-grandchildren, William and Abbie Polo, and Brayden, Claire, and Libby Charles. She was preceded in death by her loving husband WIlliam in 2014; her son WIlliam Walter, her sister, Margaret Jane Gall; and her parents, Walter and Jewell Meyer. A Celebration of Life Service is 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons -Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior and gathering with reception immediately following the service. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery at a later date.
