Frances J. Madden (Hurst), 81, entered the glorious presence of her Savior on January 5, 2018, the daughter of the late Parker Hurst and Winifred Hurst Miller. She was born in New Albany, IN and grew up in Corydon, IN. Frances graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Master's degree in Education from Indiana University. She lived in Fort Wayne for many years where she raised her daughter, taught elementary education, was a Webelo Den Mother and later a Girl Scout leader. She lived in Dilley, TX for 12 years where she blessed the lives of many special education students and their parents. After returning to Indiana, she was a substitute teacher, and a caregiver for developmentally delayed adults and the elderly. She cherished time with great nieces and her great-nephew. My mother was kind and compassionate, and affirmed the worth of all her students. She brought the love of Christ to her family and friends throughout her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years and later Harrison Avenue Christian Church in Corydon, IN. In recent years she attended Alliance Community Church, enjoyed singing, dancing, reading, taking pictures, planting flowers, reading Portals of Prayer, watching IU Basketball, and had a great love for cats and dogs, and always made friends easily. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Moore; sister, Cathy (John) Buschemeyer; brother, Bill (Johni) Hurst; nieces, Sarah, Gretchen, Leia, and Maleisha; cousins, Steve, Waid, Rita, Chuck, David, Phil and Sandy; and many other beloved cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved cousin, Billy Smith.
