Florence (Hadjieff) Spahiev, 92, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Heritage Park Health Care Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Florence was the daughter of the late Damian and Maria Hadjieff. She was a teachers assistant with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 18 years, prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church and their Women's Guild. Florence enjoyed gardening and sewing. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. Surviving are her daughter, Tana Spahiev of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Charlie, Damian, Angela, Adria, and Aubree; great-grandchildren, Adrian, Amari, Mariah, Aniyah, and Aaliyah; son-in-law, Gus Miller of Avilla; along with her loving Heritage Park family. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Ilia R. Spahiev; daughter, Marianne (Spahiev) Miller; sisters, Anna (Peter) Shopoff, and Marcella Hallel. Service is 11:00 am, Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Ave with entry prayers at 9:45 am and calling one hour prior to the service, Fr. Andrew Jarmus officiating. Calling at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Sunday, November 5, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Charity and Benevolence or St. Nicholas Orthodox Children's Sunday School.
