Elwyn "Gene" E. Rigsby, 82, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Ironton, OH, Gene worked as an Engineer with General Telephone for 25 years, and after retirement he worked with Hoosier Park Casino. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. Gene enjoyed golfing, and loved spending Sunday afternoons at Peanuts drinking Diet Coke with his fillies. Surviving are his daughters, Teresa (Dennis) Harper, and Pam Ware both of Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren, Zack Fogle, Ashley Harper, Travis (Jessica Lamb) Fogle, Tony Harper, and Alex Harper; 1 great-grandson, Malcolm Fogle; dear friends, Dan and Tena; and his son-in-law, Bill Fogle of Churubusco, IN. Elwyn was preceded in death by wife, Lillian Rigsby; and parents, Clyde and Louise Rigsby. Service is 10:30 am, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd with calling one hour prior. Calling also Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
