E. Oliver "Al" Fitzwater Jr, 73, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Oliver was the owner of Fitzwater and Sons Hauling. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Oliver was a member of the Golden Knights, the 101st and 82nd Airborne Associations -- Michigan Chapter as well as the American Legion Post 82 and the DAV Post 40. He held the office of Vice-President of the Military Order of the Purple Heart local chapter. Sgt. Rock loved God, his country and family. He enjoyed skydiving and loved his grandchildren. Surviving are his daughter, Lori K (Michael) Ianucilli of South Whitley, IN; son, E. Oliver (Sarah) Fitzwater, III of New Haven, IN; sister, Jenny (Tom) Busch of Fort Wayne, IN; former wife, Kay (Kenn) Putt of New Haven, IN; nephew, Justin "Jake" Busch; niece Lindsay (Austin) Eads; five grandchildren, Nick, Michael and Jacob Ianucilli, Everett Oliver and Kathryn Fitzwater . Oliver was preceded in death by his parents Ellis O. Sr. and Margaret E. Fitzwater, brother, Oren Fitzwater. Funeral Service is Saturday, 10:00 am, November 8, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior. Rev. David Mommens officiating. Calling will also be Friday, November 7, 2014, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Please, no cut flowers.
