Don E. Miller, M.D., 87, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Spencerville, Ohio, Don was the son of the late Arthur and Fern Miller. Don graduated from Spencerville High School class of 1948. He earned his bachelors degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1952 and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Don went on to earn his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Idaho from 1957 to 1959. Upon graduation, Don served his residency in Internal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. Don had his own private practice for 36 years in Fort Wayne. He served as President of Lutheran Hospital Medical Staff in 1976. Don was a member of the American Medical Association, Fort Wayne (Allen County) Medical Society, Indiana State Medical Association, and American College of Physicians. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Chancel Choir. Don always had an interest in nature which was evident in the many photos that he took. Don enjoyed wintering in Boca Grande, Florida where he was an active member of Boca Grande's Camera Club. Surviving are his wife of 64 years Idora Miller of Fort Wayne; sons, Richard (Debra) Miller of Phoenix, AZ, Keith (Anne) Miller of Indianapolis; grandchildren Melissa, Justin, and David Miller. Service is 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior. Calling at the funeral home Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial at a later date in Spencerville, Ohio.
