Diane Kaye (Pelz) Waldrop, 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Diane was gifted to this world by her Lord on December 26, 1943. She lived out her faithful service among the people of God at Southwest Lutheran and St. Michael Lutheran churches. The Lord strengthened her trust in His promise through Bible Study fellowship and her service in various small groups and ministries. For 52 years her love for others was lived out in her ministry as a hairstylist. Many people have learned of God's love through her compassion, empathy and listening. Her caring and fun loving heart was experienced by parents, siblings, nephews, nieces, friends and her husband. Her willingness to serve will leave a powerful impact on the mission of Jesus Christ in this community. Throughout her dementia journey, she continued to uplift and bless others through her smiles, laughter, and endearing demeanor. She was a lifelong Fort Wayne Resident, graduating from Elmhurst High School and Ravenscroft Beauty College. She is survived by her husband of 53 years David J. Waldrop; her twin brother, David W. (Carolyn) Pelz, brother Jeffrey D. (Valerie) Pelz, sister Brenda J. (Danny) Jackson, six nephews and four nieces. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Wayne E. and Virginia R. (Smith) Pelz, sister Nuralon (Jack) Sprouls and brother Douglas S (Stacy) Pelz. Service is 11 am, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, with calling one hour prior, Pastor David Maki officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Son Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.
