Dennis L. "Stroker" Kolkman , 63, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his sister's home in Fort Wayne. He was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne, IN, Dennis worked in the construction trades as a roofer for several years. He was a member of the Navy Club, Ship #245, and Moose, Lodge 1480, both of New Haven, IN. Dennis was a drag race enthusiast, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved spending time with his kids and family.
Surviving are his daughters, Angela Cobb of Fort Wayne, IN; Heather Harkuszewski of Berne, IN; Stephanie Kissell of Columbia City, IN; Autumn Rose Bowser of Garrett, IN; Mellaina Huffine of Hicksville, OH; 9 grandchildren 1 great-grandson, brother, James (Elaine) Kolkman of Monroeville, IN; sisters, Sharon K Quinn of Fort Wayne, IN; Karen (Bill) Freeland of Kendallville, IN; Iris (Ernest) Johnson of Starke, FL, several nieces and nephews. Also surviving, his dog and pride & joy Rosebud. Dennis was preceded in death by parents, William A. and Mary Jean Kolkman, brother-in-law, John Quinn, and beloved dog Tequila. Service is 1:30 pm, Friday, June 30, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 2 - 5 pm & 7 - 9 pm . Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery , Fort Wayne, Indiana. A special thanks to Matthew Moeller, Denise Moeller, Billy Moeller and Parkview Hospice for his wonderful care and family support.
