David S. Billingslea, 80, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Marion, Alabama to the late Caleb and Mary Billingslea. He worked in dietary for the V.A. Hospital, retiring in 2001 and served honorably in the United States Army. He married Sandra Billingslea on February 4, 1994 and she survives. David was an avid Alabama Football fan and loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his children, Theresa Phillips, Phyllis (Joe) Billingsley, Pamela (Murray) Jackson, David Butler, Tonya Shaw, Caleb Shaw, Rodney (Suzanne) McGhee, Timothy (Arlene) Richards, Angela Billingslea, Rick "Alan" (Kristy) Ponder; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Eva; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. David was also preceded in death by children, Sharon McGhee and Gerald McGhee; and two brothers, Johnnie and Amzi Billingslea. Funeral service 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home with calling from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Fund, or Wounded Warrior Project.
