David Dean Thompson, 75, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dave was the son of the late Harold and Mary Thompson. Dave graduated from Central High School class of 1960. He was an inspector with General Electric for 39 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Elex Club and got together with friends that grew up in the East End. Dave was a true entertainer. He enjoyed hosting parties with friends and family and more importantly loved the conversations. His other hobbies included; taking care of his property, listening to the blues, and motown music, bowling, fishing, slow pitch softball, and cheering the Cubs, Colts, and Bulls on. Dave was a wonderful husband, a loving father, an awesome grandpa to his family, and a friend of many. Dave felt very blessed to be part of the large (Thomas) family. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Judy (Thomas) Thompson of Fort Wayne; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Jaske of Bartlett, IL, Melissa (Rick) Turner, Marcy Thompson both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Allyson, Katelyn, Sarah, David, Olivia, Madison, Sam; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Thompson of Fort Wayne; sister-in-laws, Betty Thompson of Fort Wayne, Maxine Thompson of Jackson, MI; along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Raymond Thompson; and sister, Barbara (Chuck) Foreman. Service is 1:30 pm, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Calling at the funeral home Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana, 4919 Coldwater Road Fort Wayne, IN 46825, Parkview Foundation or Parkview Home, Health, and Hospice.
