Colter Elijah Schlatter, 17, passed away on March 2, 2017. Colter was born on May 25, 1999, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. Colter was a senior at Northrop High School. He was academically outstanding and was active in orchestra, jazz band, concert band, and wind ensemble, primarily playing the alto and "bari" saxophone, but also the viola. Spending time outdoors, reading, studying history and other cultures, and playing with his dogs, Layla and Stevie were just a few of his favorite activities. He truly loved spending time with his brothers and sister. Colter is survived by his parents; Topher and Lori Schlatter; birth mother, Monica (Kurt) Biggs-Shively; siblings, Spencer, Eleanore, and Marshall; grandparents, Delores Henemyer, and Thomas and Jean Biggs; and all of his numerous other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Major General Noble F. Schlatter and M. Joyce Schlatter, and Leonard F. Henemyer. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 6:30pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park 1320 E. Dupont Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46825 with calling 2 hours prior. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County SPCA or Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.
