Cloyce M. Steiss was born on April 5, 1926 to Gustav and Cecil Steiss. He lived his early years in Ft. Wayne and moved to a 40 acre farm in Huntertown in 1971. Cloyce was a man of many talents. He was an auto mechanic having worked for Collins Motor Company, Ford, and Fox & Fox Frame. Cloyce was a member of the Allen County Sheriff Reserves for 25 years. He rode with the Mounted Posse for many of those years. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne and Our Hope Lutheran Church in Huntertown. He entered heaven peacefully on December 17. Celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 22 with viewing at 9 a.m. at D. O. McCombs on Dupont Road. Cloyce was married to Norma Jean Chaney in 1947. Norma preceded him in death in 2016. Cloyce is survived by his daughter, Faye (Glen) Krans of Virginia Beach, VA and son, David (Kathy) Steiss of Columbia City, IN; grandchildren, Renee (Glenn) Rountree of Smithfield, VA, Andrea (Shawn) Nelson of Williamsburg, VA, Carrie (Justin) Buck of Virginia, Beach, VA, Eric (Kelly) Krans of Sparta, NC, Alissa (Justin) Sklenar, Aaron Steiss, and Jason Steiss all of Ft. Wayne, IN; and 12 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Our Hope Lutheran Church.
