Charles "Chuck" R. Meckley, 52, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Chuck worked as an automotive service technician with Hire's Auto Parts for 31 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 296, where he was a SAL Sergeant at Arms. Chuck was the best dad and husband in the world. He could fix anything and was a master on the grill. He was very proud to be an Eagle Scout. He also worked as a tech at Baer Field Speedway for 17 years along side his wife and long-time friend Danny Tucker. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Roxann (Wyss) Meckley of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kristy (Nate) Clark, Erin (Francisco) Navarro, and Jessica (A.J) Steinacker all of Fort Wayne; beloved granddaughter, Kaida; brother, James (Kathy) Meckley of Ossian, IN; numerous "adopted" kids and very special friends Momma A and Aunt B; and his fur babies, Honey and Molasses. Chuck was preceded in death by parents, Robert Meckley and Harriett Meckley. Service is 10:30 am, Saturday, July 7, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with an hour of call prior to the service. Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, Friday, July 6, 2018, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Allen County SPCA.
