Carolyn "Pam" Kille
Fort Wayne, IN – Carolyn "Pam" R. Kille, age 86, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
Carolyn was born in Spencerville, OH on October 23, 1930 and was the daughter of Raymond Ramsey and Bernice (Rapp) Ramsey Jacobs, and the step-daughter of Charles Jacobs.
Carolyn graduated from Spencerville High School and attended Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH where she was voted May Queen. She graduated as one of only five women enrolled in the Pharmacy School in 1952 and then worked as a pharmacist at Carl's Drug in Lima, OH.
Carolyn had many interests, was multi-talented, mastering whatever she applied herself to. She attended the International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA) in Castine, Maine for over 25 years and became a skilled builder of miniatures, dollhouses, room boxes, furniture, dolls. Other hobbies included quilting, hand-braiding rugs, sewing, painting, and knitting among others. Carolyn also ran businesses (Etcetera Etc.) dealing in depression glass in NY and beads and lace in NM.
Carolyn was married to her college sweetheart, Robert Kille in 1953 upon his return from the Korean War. After several moves throughout their early marriage, they settled in Glenville, NY before retiring to Roswell, NM in 1995.
Carolyn is preceded by her husband Robert who passed away in 2013 and survived by her children Charlie (Betsy) Kille of Ft. Wayne, IN and Katie (Jeff) Syron of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren David Kille of Billerica, MA; Martha (Andrew) Winters of Fremont, OH; and step-grandchildren Nicholas, Trevor and Stephen Syron.
Relatives and friends may call on October 14 at 10 am to 12 pm at the D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home at 1326 Dupont Rd, Ft. Wayne, IN. Burial services will be at a later date at the Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to scholarships at IGMA PO Box 629, Freedom, CA 95019 or the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in Memoriam Program, PVM Development Office, Lynn Hall, Room 1177A, 625 Harrison St., West Lafayette IN 47907.
