Carol A. Thompson, 74, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Ashton Creek Health and Rehab in Fort Wayne. Born in Chicago, IL, Carol worked as a Registered Nurse, BSN with Parkview Hospital for many years and retired from St. Joe Hospital after 35 years. She was a member of St. Joe United Methodist Church. Carol was a wonderful mom. She enjoyed painting and crafts. She and Gary traveled extensively. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Gary B. Thompson of Fort Wayne; son, Blaine Thompson and companion Katy Smith of Fort Wayne; brother, Allen (Bruni) Kasper of Ocean Shores, WA; and sister, Jean Kasper of Plainfield, IL. Carol was preceded in death by parents Robert and Martha Kasper. Service is 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at - D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with Pastor Russ Abel officiating. Calling at - D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home Saturday, January 6, 2018, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Illinois, Monday, January 8 at 1:00 pm.
