Betty Margaret (Kocher) Peters, was born on March 23rd, 1924 and passed away on May 1st, 2016. She was born to Oliver and Sophia (Roper) Kocher, in Huntington, IN.
Betty was an active member and volunteer for the Waynedale United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She also volunteered at the Embassy Theater for over 24 years. Betty worked well into her 80's for the Fort Wayne Rehabilitation Hospital front desk for over 10 years. She also worked for the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and City Utilities for many years and managed the office of Dr Carlton Keck. She "Never had a job that she didn't like". Betty was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor.She would always go out of her way to make someone's day with a kind word or a pot of chili. She met life head on and persevered with a motto of, "whatever it takes". Organizations that Betty belonged to included the American Legion, Shriner's Widow Club, Daughter's of the Nile, and was past queen and founding member of the pageantry.
Survivor's include her Son's: Bill, Tom, and Mark. Grandchildren: Rob, Claire, and Laura. Great-Grandchild, Cooper.
Betty was preceded in death by her Husband Bill, (Wilbur Eugene), and all 4 of her siblings, Dorothy Cole, Helen Poehler, Louise Szewzuk, and Donald Kocher. Visitation for Betty will be on Friday May 6th from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home at 6301 Fairfield Ave. Funeral service will be on Saturday May 7th at 11 am at D.O. McComb and Son's Foster Park with visitation 1 hour prior.To sign the online guest book, go to
