Barbara A. Vonderhaar, 86, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Anne's Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born in Fort Wayne, she graduated from Central Catholic High School and married her husband of 62 years, Arthur J. Vonderhaar. She worked briefly for Lincoln Nation Life Insurance Company before leaving to raise their six children. Barbara was a dedicated caregiver as a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with relatives, neighbors and serving at church. Her creative spirit expressed itself mostly in photography and crocheting. Surviving are her son, Kenneth Vonderhaar; daughter, Louise Vonderhaar; daughter, Marie (Jeffry) Hilker; daughter, Geralynn (Carol Ort) Vonderhaar; son, Jerome "Jerry" (Patricia) Vonderhaar; daughter Charlene (Michael) Rorick; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Louise (Michael) Kinney; sister Betty (Mark) Squier; brother, Joseph (Christine) Brown. Barbara was preceded in death by twin sons, Anthony and Michael Vonderhaar; husband, Arthur Vonderhaar; parents, Herman J. and Louise Brown; sister Judy (Frank) Russo; brother Roland Brown; brother, William Brown; brother, Philip Brown. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30am, Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a Rosary service at 4:30 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road.
