B. Willene Hanson, 91, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Heritage Corner Health Care in Bowling Green, Ohio where she had lived for the past two years. She was born in Ackerman, MS, to the late William Victor and Onie Henderson. Willene was a resident of Fort Wayne, IN since 1967 and worked as a Sales Clerk with Fred Toenges Shoes for 20 years, retiring in 1994. She was a founding member of Christ's Church at Georgetown, She was also a member of the Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) and the American Legion Post #82. Her hobbies included square dancing, gardening and reading. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy L. Smith of Bowling Green, OH; Martha C. "Marty" (John) Knight of Fort Wayne, IN; Cynthia L. Gillen of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Amy (David) Ames, Nathan (Heather) Wyatt, Keith (Anastasia) Wright, Bryan (Anne) Wright, great-grandchildren, Gabriel Ames, Beckett and Beau Wyatt, Zain and Veronika Wright, Olivia and Helena Wright, several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Willene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William E. Hanson, brothers, Bill and Charles Henderson, sisters, Mattie Peeples and Maurine Peeples, Mavis Hunt. Service is 1:30 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Calling Friday, December 1, 2017, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
