Ann Perry Wintrode, 97, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017. She was born in Ashland, AL, the daughter of the late James W. and Ida Jane (Schoggins) Perry. Ann graduated from Pepperdine College in Los Angeles, Ca at age 18, and obtained a Master's Degree from the Peabody School of Library Science. Her career in librarianship took her to a number of places including Baltimore, MD, The Menninger clinic in Topeka, KS, Chicago, IL, and Denver, CO. Locally she worked at Indiana Institute of Tech, St. Francis College Library, and retired as the Coordinator of the Area 3 Library Services Authority, known as Tri-Alsa. Following her retirement she pursued hand-writing analysis, freelance writing, editing and teaching. She married her husband James on May 30, 1952 and shared 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2015. Surviving are her daughter, Penny Lytle; and her grandsons, Bradley and Kevin Lytle. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral service will take place at 11AM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Chapel 8325 Covington Road Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with visitation 1 hour prior. Private family burial.
