Angelique Dawniel Gray, 43, passed away on April 19, 2019. She was born in Danville, Ill on October 21, 1975. She loved to sing and participated in her church choir at Carter Metropolitan CME Church from 1980 to 1994. Angelique cheered for the Danville Lincoln Raiders from 1983 to 1990. She enjoyed running a daycare and caring for children since 2010. She had a big heart and was a very good worker with excellent customer service. Everywhere she worked people loved her and she loved people. Angelique had a servants heart, opening her home to single mothers and children for many years. She is survived by her children; Ricolia Gray, Deojanique Gray, Deondae Gray, and Ariana Gray; parents, Richard and LaTanya Wheeler, Priscilla (Kandi); granddaughter, Amorianna; siblings, Melvin Dwaine (Peggy) Gray Jr and Richard Daryle Wheeler Jr.; godmother, Doris Steele Matchem; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind honorary godchildren and grandchildren to cherish her memory, Lorraine, Shaquille, C.J., Noona, Zaiden, Paris, Tori, Laniyah, Amber, JuJu, Jamere, Jametre, Mariama, Shugga and the list can go on. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Melvin Gray Sr.; and grandparents, Eloiza Velaquez and Henry Loyd Moore and Shirley Jean Gray and J.D. Gray.
