I only learned of Mark's passing today, so I apologize for this late entry:
What I enjoyed with Mark was his incredible sense of humor. Super sharp, wonderfully sarcastic, and subtle with impeccable timing. Sometimes it would take me a couple seconds before I realized he had just zapped me! What an amazing talent he was.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Mark and I attended Lakeside Junior High where he was a star on the Lancer's basketball team while I ran cross country and track. He went to Snider and I went to North Side and then we both attended IPFW in the early to mid 70's where Mark once again excelled in both academics and basketball with one of the earliest Mastodon teams. After grad school we both wound up at IPFW, me in philosophy and Mark in dental research. We were noontime warriors on the oldies team taking on all comers in the Gates Center. Mark has been a part of my life for a long time and I will miss him very much, but I also rejoice that he was a part of my life.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Mark was our neighbor in Fort Wayne back on Hobson Road about 50 years ago, he will be truly missed by everyone. Sending prayers to the Putt family.
