Tribute & Message From The Family

William H. (Bill) Whitehouse, Jr., 64, passed away Saturday, July 27 in Imperial Beach, CA. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late William H. Whitehouse, Sr. and Nancy (Powell) Whitehouse.
As a natural handyman with an incredible work ethic, he was always quick to lend a hand to others. Like his father, he retired from Dana Corp. after more than 30 years of service. He served in several Union positions during his tenure at Dana, was a volunteer firefighter for St. Joe Township for many years, and also served on the Board of Trustees for Cedarville Township. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and casino trips. Ever the life of the party, he was at his happiest when spending time with friends and family – especially if it provided an excuse to put on a good fireworks show. His children will also remember the many nights spent with their Dad at laser light shows he and Uncle Wil put on during the Three Rivers Festival, Haunted Castle, and Christmas at the Zoo when they were young.
He is survived by his children Jennifer Griffis, Amy (Scott) Lazoff, Cody (Tamara) Whitehouse, Benjamin (Candace) Whitehouse, and Simon Whitehouse; grandchildren Alyssa (Grant) Johnson, Aaron & Isaac Lazoff, and Scarlett Whitehouse; former spouse Mary Whitehouse; and siblings Caleb (Ricardo) Whitehouse, Mary (Gary) Nemeth and Tracy Cass. He was preceded in death by his sister Diane Whitehouse. Should friends desire, contributions can be made to the Navy Seal Foundation or the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.
A service will be held Monday, August 5, 2019 at 6pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, with calling from 4-6pm. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.domccombandsons.com

So So sorry to hear this I just ran into Bill a few weeks ago at Gander he was so excited to get more things for fishing trip with family in days to come . Havn't seen him in years but worked with him many years ago doing construction . Probably talked for a good hour and told him to catch the big one . The good Lord landed a good one but way to soon . RIP BILL !

Known Bill about 10 years but got to know pretty well. He helped with me with many things and would never take a dime. Had to twist his arm to let me buy him dinner and a beverage. He could fix anything. What a great and fun guy who I will miss. My prayers and sympathy to the family.

Its been an honor to call "Billy" by older brother, I am so proud of his children and strength they continue to show. He would for sure consider his children his greatest accomplishment. I wish for peace and strength and fond memories during this time towards everyone that knew him. Thank you for all the wonderful messages and calls each of us have received. Until the next chapter brother rest at ease. Love Caleb

Bill was our neighbor in River Bend Bluffs. My husband and I will always remember Bill as a kind person that loved his family and his community. Bill was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and neighbors. We were saddened to hear of Bills passing. Our deepest sympathy to Bills family and close friends. We will miss Bill stopping by to say hello. We will never forget you, Bill. RIP
