Dave- My deepest sympathy to you, Sara, and all your family on the death of your precious granddaughter, Emma Lou. She did indeed bear the name of two of God's most beautiful creations- her great-great grandmother & her grandmother. I will be keeping you all in my prayers for comfort and healing.

I followed Emma's journey through her cousin, Rosie's, posts. I never met Emma or her mommy, Sara, but they have both been in my prayers every night. That sweetheart touched many lives and God has prepared a special place for her up in heaven. It warms my heart to know that she is now free of tubes, machines, and pain. Sleep peacefully, sweet baby.

I was truly blessed to be a part of Emma Lou and Sara's journey in Cincinnati. I feel a void when I drive by the hospital, knowing that Emma and Sara aren't there. Little Emma fought so, so hard, and Sara was by her side almost every minute. Sara could not have been a more dedicated and loving mother, and it was beautiful to watch her in action. I am so sad for this tremendous loss. My favorite visit was last Thursday when Emma was so alert, with her beautiful, blue eyes wide open. She was apparently enjoying my silly song, because she stared intently at me the whole time I sang (even with my not-so-great voice). I will never forget the joy that I felt in that moment and how Sara and I both cried tears of joy to be in the presence of such a beautiful baby! How blessed we all were to have this sweet baby with us, even for a short time. She touched so many lives, near and far. Rest in peace, sweet baby.
